Merry Christmas

I know it is officially past Christmas Day, but I would like to say Merry Christmas. Greg and I are back from my aunt's house in Menomonee Falls and playing Euchre. Euchre, while not an official "Milwaukee" game, as I never heard of it until meeting Greg from Beloit, it is extremely fun nonetheless. I hear it is similar to a classic Wisconsin game - Sheepshead. Never played, but willing to learn.

Anyway, have a great holiday and Merry Christmas.

Yellow Snow

As I was rushing into work from the parking lot this morning, there were two dogs out "walking" their owners in Zeidler Square. :-) The second the two dogs saw each other, they began to run towards each other with great excitement. I suddenly had an image in my head of the classic movie scene, in slow motion of course, of two long lost lovers running towards each other...

I couldn't help but laugh as the two dogs started to smell each others butts.

Food Day

Ugh, today is holiday food day at work. Unfortunately I have already fallen prey to the coaxing of coworkers leading me to a glutton's paradise of random morsels of tasty deliciousness. Now if only I had a beer. :-)

Speaking of beer, I think I will pick up some local Wisconsin brew for this evening. I feel like a New Glarus Spotted Cow - and after this food day, in more ways than one.

Happy Holidays!

Twelve, Twelve Today

So, since it is 12/12, I thought I would google the significance of the number 12. My results brought me back and I recalled the biblical significance of the number 12: 12 apostles, 12 tribes of Israel, and 12 sons of Jacob. These biblical references got me thinking about the fantastic church my husband and I attend here in Milwaukee. I'd like to give props to my church: Lake Park Lutheran. This is where my husband and I got married and while we don't go nearly as much as I feel we should, I feel welcome every time I go. It's like when you have a great friend that you haven't seen in a while, but when you finally reconnect, it's like no time has passed.

Finally, let's not forget another important "12" reference; the 12 Days of Christmas - one of my favorite times of the year.

Living in Milwaukee

As I look out at the snow covered roads and the downtown Milwaukee Chase building which says it's 13 degrees outside, I begin to analyze why I live in Milwaukee.

As I listen to my husband gripe about the Wisconsin winters, I think about why I live in Milwaukee.

As I reminisce about my recent trip to New York City, I consider my decision for staying in Milwaukee.

The answer remains the same - I truly love living here!
